Claudette (Gendreau) Manchester

Claudette (Gendreau) Manchester, beloved wife of William Thomas Manchester, passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2024.  Born in Fall River, she is the loving daughter of the late Jean Charles and Eva (Cote’) Gendreau.

Claudette grew up in Fall River.  She attended and graduated from St. Ann’s School in Fall River.  Claudette worked as a book keeper for various companies.  It was her work that brought her husband William into her life.  They married and settled in Woburn and then Saugus to raise their children.  Claudette enjoyed being with her grandchildren, visiting with people and many fun years on Bow Lake in New Hampshire.  Claudette’s greatest joy in addition to her family, was the love she shared with her husband.  You could often find them together, sitting in their back yard.  She is deeply missed by her husband William and her family.

Claudette is the devoted mother of William D. Manchester and his wife Patrice of North Reading, Cheryl DiLisio and her husband Donald of Swampscott, Donna Snyder and her husband Scott of Ohio and Bradford Manchester and his wife Denae of South Carolina.  Cherished grandmother of Courtney Leroux and her husband David, Matthew Manchester and his fiancé Aubrey, Janelle and Danielle DiLisio and Robert and Scott Snyder.  Loving great grandmother of Emily Catherine Leroux, Sophia, Samara, Thea and Mirren.  Beloved brother of Denis Gendreau and his wife Barbara of Missouri and Rene Gendreau and his wife Donna of Florida.  She also leaves many loving extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line)  on Monday March 18th  from 9am to 10:30am.

Following the visitation, a funeral mass will be celebrated for Claudette at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading, at  11:00am. 

Burial will take place following mass in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
