Morris, Dorothy J. “Dottie” (Quinn) –Of Reading, July 13th. Beloved wife of James P. Morris. Adored mother of James P. Morris and his wife Sharon (Kerkhoff) of Barrington, IL, and Kenneth Morris and his wife Elizabeth (Carey) of Tewksbury. Sister of the late John L. She was a longtime resident of Reading, born in Wakefield on February 10, 1929 to the late John L. and Josephine E. (McIntosh) Quinn. She grew up in her Irish family in Wakefield. Dorothy married her lifelong companion of 67 years, James Potter Morris, in 1950, before moving to Reading in 1954. Meticulous in everything she did and a bookkeeper by trade, Dottie worked for many years in the Reading public school system, ultimately in the Office of the Superintendent. She retired in 1992 and traveled to Asia and Europe with her husband. Dottie's first priority was always her family. She enjoyed vacations in the Lakes Regions of New Hampshire and Maine with her sons and particularly her five grandchildren, where she would expose her competitive nature only in games. She avidly participated in the activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren. Dottie always had something to say with a smile.
