Ahern, Edwina “Wini” – of North Andover passed away Thursday August 3, 2017 at the age of 78.  She was the daughter of Edwin J. Ahern and Catherine (Murphy) Ahern.  She is survived by her children Michael Pignatiello of Somerville and Donna Iarocci of California.  Sister of Gail Hennessey of NH and Arlene Roli of Andover, Bobby Ahern of Haverhill and Paul Ahern of Andover. Wini also leaves behind her grandchildren and many good friends. Wini was a graduate of Charlestown High School. She was employed at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as an adjuster. She also worked for the City of Somerville as an assistant assessor. She lived in Somerville for many years then moved to Hampstead NH. She was a volunteer at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry NH where she earned many awards for exemplary service over the course of time spent there. Upon moving to North Andover she was a volunteer at the North Andover Elementary School. Wini loved to travel and visited Europe and Asia many times as well as cruising over the world.  She was an avid reader and animal lover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 9th from 5-7pm in the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28), North Reading, at Reading line. Interment will be privately held.
