Thelma (Goldstein) Shapiro

Thelma Shapiro, 85, of North Andover, MA passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2019. Originally from Brooklyn, NY and later of Old Bridge, NJ, Thelma moved to Massachusetts 20 years ago to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

Thelma is predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Kenneth Shapiro and her parents, Celia and Nathan Goldstein. Thelma was a strong woman who loved her family fiercely. Time and again, Thelma used that love and determination to push through illnesses and challenges that seemed insurmountable.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Marci Bailey, and her husband, Paul, of North Reading and her daughter, Jacqueline Robbins, and her husband, Robert, of Rochester, NY. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Claire, Jessica, and Max as well as her niece, Lynne Shapiro. Thelma’s family expresses special appreciation to the many caregivers who supported her with love and compassion in recent years, especially Debbie Schmitt, the staff at The Meadows/Edgewood, and the staff and members of the Point After Club in Lawrence, MA.

A memorial remembrance will be held in the fall.
