McDonough, Dr. Annette (Romano) - Of Wilmington passed away on Sunday December 8th, at the age of 60 after battling a rare autoimmune disorder. She was the Loving Fiancé of John Peasley of Wilmington. Beloved daughter of Richard Romano and Catherine (Fricia) of Reading. Dear sister of Lori Richard of North Andover and Cloie Romano of Reading. Cherished aunt of Anthony and Jonathan of North Andover and the late Stephen Richard. Treasured great aunt of Joseph and Anthony. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who adored her.
Annette loved life and although it was cut way too short she spent her time devoted to education, medical research and family. She earned a Ph D in Cardiac Electrophysiology. She held a MS from the University of Boston in Trauma/Critical Care Education and earned her BS in Nursing. She was a tenured Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell where she taught in the Health Science College. Annette was recognized for many achievements through her research work with UMass and Mass General Hospital. She was a positive influence on so many. She was the pillar of strength and bravery and will be dearly missed by everyone she touched. Funeral will begin at the funeral home on Friday December 13th at 9:30am. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St.(Rte 62) , North Reading at 10:30am. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment Wood End Cemetery Reading. Flowers are welcome, but Donations may also be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 166 Federal St. 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
