Grandmother of Kirsten Mammola, Kasey Mastrocola, Anthony Doran and Vincent Doran. Great grandmother of Joseph, Ainsley and McKenna Mastrocola and Jackson Mammola.
Carol was full of life with family as the center. She enjoyed her family vacations in Hampton, Cape Cod, Disney World, Martha’s Vineyard and Italy. Heading to Mohegan with her husband Edward was always an adventure. She loved attending her daughter’s softball and hockey games as well as her son’s hockey games – regardless of weather, hour, state or country, Carol ensured her loving presence and encouragement. Carol loved spending time with her two granddaughters, traveling far and wide to attend all their sporting events – youth leagues, high school and college. She travelled to Ohio to visit her two grandsons and especially loved when they along with her son Stephen and his wife Kristine could visit here. Family gatherings over the many years were always memorable and full of joy from her own early years with Sundays at her grandma’s, then at her mom’s and then at her daughter’s, the tradition continued. The holidays were always spent with her family, especially Christmas as Christmas shopping was a year-round joy for her. Carol simply loved shopping, happily doing that online even as her health declined. Carol as “Granny” enjoyed her four great-grandchildren who she loved being with in person or through FaceTime. She loved scrolling through the hundreds of pictures and videos on her iPad and proudly showed them off to everyone. She was loved by so many and commonly thought of as “quite a character”. Carol had a particular love of Italy and the Italian group IL Volo who she listened to constantly having attended three of their concerts, the last one just last year. Carol was a passionate Boston sports fan with a particular affinity for Ted Williams, the Splendid Splinter who she regarded as the greatest Red Sox of all time. Carol’s knowledge of all sports made her an enjoyable and knowledgeable contributor to any sports discussion Most importantly, Carol will always be remembered as having set the Gold standard as a Mother and Grandmother providing a forever lasting, incredibly powerful influence of love and devotion that she graced upon her blessed family. Wife, Mom, Grandma, Granny will be greatly missed.
