Eva Sanseverino Obituary

Eva E. (Crovo) Sanseverino -of Northbridge, formerly of Somerville, beloved wife of the late Frank M. Sanseverino, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15th, 2021 at the age of 99. Born in Boston, she is the daughter of the late James and Teresa (Merigo) Crovo.  She was the beloved mother of Frank M. Sanseverino, Jr. of Somerville, Paul A. Sanseverino and his wife Theresa of Methuen, Rita M. Angelesco and her husband John of North Reading and Michael J. Sanseverino and his wife Dorothy of Sandown, NH. Beloved sister of the late Madeline Crovo, Teresa Guthro, John Crovo and Frances Gailey. Cherished grandmother of Stephen Sanseverino, Tom and Paige Sanseverino, Alyssa Smith and her husband Robert, John Angelesco and his wife Jennifer, Anthony and Victoria Angelesco and Jakobi Sanseverino. Great Grandmother of Sophia Sanseverino and Layla Smith.  Loving aunt of Carol Riley of Tampa FL, George Guthro of Tampa FL, Mark Gailey and his wife Donna of Middleboro, Karen Bryant and her husband “Bubba” of Texas and Harold Gailey and his wife in addition to her many nieces and nephews. Best friend of more than 50 years to Elaine Gosselin of Northbridge.

Eva grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She married her husband Frank and they raised their family in Somerville. Eva was known for her active and athletic lifestyle. She played basketball, field hockey, softball and was on the swim team in high school. She rode her bicycle and was on a bowling team through most of her adult life. Eva was an avid sports fan. If there was a Red Sox game on, she would be found in front of the TV cheering them on. She loved the outdoors and the many summers she spent at camp in Rochester, New Hampshire with her family and long-time friend, Elaine.  After being a stay at home mom for her family, she worked in a local department store for many years.

She was also involved in her church, St. Anthony’s of Somerville, helping out at Bingo every week. She was always available to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

Eva lived a long, full and healthy life. Her kind and gentle demeanor was admired by everyone she met.  We were blessed to have her for so long and will continue to pass down the family traditions she has taught us. She was always happiest being around her family and holding and caring for the many grandchildren and great grandchildren in her life.
