Jack F. Bowen

John F. “Jack” Bowen, beloved husband of the late Bonnie (Tuccelli) Bowen, passed away peacefully with his son and daughter by his side on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. 

The loving son of the late Frederick and Marguerite (Driscoll) Bowen, Jack was born and raised with his brother, the late Bill Bowen, in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1962. After graduating, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Upon leaving the USMC, Jack married the love of his life, Bonnie, and they settled in Wilmington to raise their two children, Jeff and Jen. Jack was the consummate family man who dedicated every aspect of his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and, in his retirement, he delighted in creating many wonderful memories with his family at his second home on Cape Cod. Strong of character and warm of heart, Jack enjoyed the quieter moments of life tinkering in the yard, helping his kids with house projects, and cheering from the sidelines at his granddaughters’ sporting events and performances. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.

Jack is the cherished grandfather (“Pa”) of Sawyer Dane Bowen-Flynn and Delaney-Rae Bowen and the devoted father of Jeffrey Bowen and his wife, Heather, and Jen Bowen-Flynn and her husband, Doug. 

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (Corner of Park and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00am. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00am in the Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.
