Sardina, James J. at the age of 96, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
James was born in Boston, MA on January 28, 1925 to Frank and Anna (Visconti) Sardina. He was a Marine Corps Veteran, serving two tours of duty during World War II.
In 1949 James married the light of his life, Joyce (Dumas) Sardina. They were blessed with 6 children. James was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor who dedicated his life to his family. A hardworking man who was employed by American Airlines for 42 years. He was a generous provider, often slipping “cigar” money into a loved one's hands. James enjoyed family dinners, celebrations and traveling. He was never known to turn down a Chivas, a piece of chocolate or the chance to ride the latest roller coaster. He was always available to help both family and neighbors due to the Golden Rule being his life’s motto. James truly relished his role as “Papa” and took great pride in both his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s accomplishments.
James was predeceased by his parents Frank and Anna, his sisters Rita and Carmela and his brothers Charles and Joseph. In addition his loving wife, Joyce, his infant son, Michael and beloved daughter, Theresa went before him. James is survived by his son, Steven, son in law Raymond (Cloutier), daughters Michele Carlino (John), Janice Kindelan and Mary Ann Sutton (Edward). He was blessed with 7 grandchildren; James and his wife Amanda, David and his wife Melissa, Stephany, Andrew and his wife Colleen, Christopher and his wife Stephanie, Victoria and her partner Calvin and Elijah. As well as 6 great grandchildren; Jael, Lexie, Juliana, Emma, Riley and Avery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Saint Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St,(Rte. 62) North Reading MA. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the ALS foundation in memory of Theresa Cloutier.
