James "Stuey" Stewart

James E. Stewart, of North Reading and formerly of Lynn, passed away on Monday, February 27th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Lynn, he is the loving husband of the late Gayle (Sylvester) Stewart and  beloved son of the late Bruce and Ginny Stewart.

Affectionately known as Stuey, he grew up in Lynn and has been a long time resident of North Reading.  Stuey married his late wife Gayle and settled in North Reading to raise their daughter Wendy.  He worked as a plumber for the Local 12 for many years until his retirement.  Stuey loved to be on the ocean, it was like a second home to him.  He was a member of the Lynn Yacht Club.  He and his family have great memories on the water.  Stuey could also be found riding on his motorcycle, and spending wonderful times with his family.  He will be greatly missed by his many friends and loving family.
 

Stuey is the devoted father of Wendy Gagnon and her fiance' Brian Middleton.  Beloved long time partner of Christine McCafferty.  Cherished grandfather of Christopher and Jake Gagnon and step grandfather of Trevor and Lily Middleton.  Loving brother in law of Donald Sylvester and his wife Kathy.  Dear friend of Daryl Matvichuk and his wife Kim.  Stuey leaves many close friends and extended family.
 

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading, (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Sunday, March 12th, 2023 from 2:30 to 5:30pm.
