Janet E. (Zammarchi) Johnson

Janet E. Johnson, age 78 died Wednesday, January 27th surrounded by her loving family.

The one thing everyone knew about Janet or “JJ” was that it was all about family.  She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was also the neighborhood Mom who welcomed all and if you were good to her kids, she welcomed you into her “family” openly.
Janet was a single Mom and raised three children for whom she sacrificed everything. Through all the teen drama, relationships, heartbreaks, and hijinks her children never went without and she was always there to comfort, support and love them unconditionally.  If we had a dollar for every time we heard “Your Mom did a great job with her kids…” we’d all be rich.

She worked at Wilsonart International in North Reading, MA for almost 30 years as an executive assistant. She retired in 2000 and enjoyed every minute of it, traveling, shopping, and enjoying time with family and friends.  She especially looked forward to trips to Williamstown, MA to spend time with Mima and Bompa on their farm and travel through the beautiful Berkshires.

She looked forward every year to her summers in Biddeford, Maine, always close to the ocean watching her grandchildren grow up and search for buried treasures and sea shells on Hills Beach. She made the journey to North Conway, NH for a week of Story Land, Santa’s Village, and Clarke’s Bears for eight straight years. As all the grandchildren got older “Grandy” would enjoy vacationing and Day Trips with everyone throughout Maine and New England for many years.

Janet leaves her three children, Andy and is wife Beth of Peabody, Amy Angelo and her husband Stephen of Peabody and David and his wife Diana of Reading; her cherished grandchildren Hannah Natalie, Brady and Brooke and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by her brother Frank and sister Linda. The family would like to thank the staff at Season’s of Danvers and Compassus Hospice for their care and compassion given.
