John F. Kiernan (“Jack”), beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Perry) Kiernan, passed away on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at the age of 86. Born in Medford, he is the loving son of the late John and Agnes (Sullivan) Kiernan.
Jack grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. Following graduation, Jack worked for Revere Sugar where he met his future wife, Bea Perry. He then entered the US National Guard. During his time in the National Guard, Jack was trained as a land surveyor. He worked as a land surveyor and in construction for several local companies, and finished his career working for the Big Dig. Jack and his wife settled in Reading to raise their family. He enjoyed making great memories with friends and family by golfing, playing poker, watching the Red Sox, and reading. Jack also enjoyed scratch tickets, always waiting for that big hit. Jack was a great family man and will be deeply missed by his many friends and loving family.
He is the devoted father of Kevin J. Kiernan and his wife Deborah, and Paul J. Kiernan. Cherished grandfather of Katy Kiernan. Loving brother of Mary Kane and her husband John, Claire Bergstrom and her husband Ernest, and Joseph Kiernan and his wife Nancy. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to join with Jack's Family for visiting hours on Saturday, April 1st from 10am to 12pm at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line). Interment to follow visitation at Charles Lawn Cemetery in Reading.
