Joseph Gannon Obituary

Joseph B. Gannon, Jr. – Of North Reading, MA passed away on January 4th . Joe was born in Everett, MA, attended Malden Catholic High School & was a graduate of Boston College.

Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Gannon, his sons Scott Gannon of Wellesley, MA, Kevin Gannon and his wife Wendy of Beverly, MA and Timothy Gannon and his wife Kara of Hingham, MA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Alexander, Casey, Sophie, Colin, Lukas, Lindsey and Brady and his favorite dog Murray who brought him so much joy the last months of his life.

Joe’s career started in sales at Johnson & Johnson, then 20 years at Polaroid Corp where he traveled over six continents as Director of International Marketing. Later Joe was selected to participate in The President’s Executive Exchange Commission and worked as a Special Advisor in the Dept. of Commerce. He later returned to Boston College as Executive Director of the International Marketing Institute at the Graduate School of Management.

Joe was an avid golfer for many years at Thomson Country Club in North Reading. He enjoyed traveling the world for both work and pleasure, took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and great joy from his grandchildren and the many 4-legged family members he and Susan loved over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Cota Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 10th at 4pm. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be private.
