Loretta Kokolis Obituary

Loretta (Calabrese) Kokolis of Wakefield, formerly of Cambridge, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 20th, after a very brief illness, at the age of 75.

Born on February 6, 1947, Loretta grew up in Cambridge and loved the city of her birth.  She worked at Cambridge City Hall for 16 years.  Started as a Jr. Clerk Typist, then advanced through many departments and was  then offered and accepted  a position in the Mayor’s office as Administrative Assistant to the Mayor and subsequently ended up working for multiple Mayors.  At that time, she was the first female  to be sworn in as Administrative Aide to a Mayor.  She left her position to work at International Family Church and was the Executive Assistant to her brother in law who was the Senior Pastor.  She worked there for 33 years until her retirement.  She was known too many as “Auntie” and was extravagantly kind and generous to all.  Her gift of hospitality and compassion touched so many.

She was the devoted wife to Athanasios Kokolis for 28 years, loving  step mother to Kelly and Daniel  Murnane, Grammy to Daniel and Kaitlin Murnane of North Reading,  Sister to Judi (Calabrese) and Peter Doliber of Merrimack, NH and Verna (Calabrese) and Jonathan Del Turco of North Reading; Aunt of Jonathan Del Turco, II, Lori Ann Tabora of Wilmington,  Traci Lee Doliber, Tricia Lynn Moore, Michael Doliber of Merrimack, NH; Great Aunt to Isabella Tabora, Benjamin Tabora, Mia Del Turco, Jonathan Del Turco, III, and James Del Turco,  Devin Moore and Owen Moore.

A private  service will be held in the Cota Funeral Home of North Reading on March 1st.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Organization Loretta loved - Living Word Missions.  https://www.livingwordmissions.org.
