Louise M. (Hickey) Finn

Louise M. Finn, beloved wife of Thomas Finn, passed away on Thursday, October 19th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Boston, she is the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite (Riley) Hickey.

Louise grew up in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School.  She then attended Northeastern University in Boston and received a Bachelor in Nursing.  Louise married the love of her life, Tom and they settled in Reading in 1980 to raise their family.  

As a nurse, Louise took great pride in her care for people in need. She worked the entire game of nursing, from the emergency room, to the operating room and then to end of life care at Wingate and later Bear Mountain Nursing Facility.  When she wasn’t working, Louise enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, stenciling, gardening and the Red Sox. Upon retirement, Louise filled her time being with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 42 years and her beloved family. 

Louise is the devoted mother of Thomas Finn, Jr. and his wife Diana of Peabody, Matthew Finn and his wife Tara of West Boylston and Jonathan Finn of Reading.  Cherished grandmother of Vivian Finn and Maggie Finn of Peabody.  Loving sister of Thomas C. Hickey, Jr. of Reading as well as beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Louise leaves many cousins, extended family and dear friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 from 9am to 10:30am

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated following the visitation at 11:00am at St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 11:00am. Interment will be held privately. Please omit flowers and make donations in Louise’s name to a charity of your choice
