Luigia Petrosillo Obituary

Luigia "Gina" (De Sanctis) Petrosillo, beloved wife of the late Orazio Petrosillo, passed away on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at the age of 91. Born in Riete, Italy, she is the loving daughter of the late Orazio and Carolina (Alvisini) De Sanctis.

Gina grew up in Riete Italy and married the love of her life Orazio in 1958. They immigrated to the United States in 1966 in Somerville with five of their children and expanded their family by four more children. A total of 9 children. They then spent the remainder in Medford. Gina took great pride in raising her nine children. She enjoyed sewing and cooking from scratch. Her home was always open and welcome. Anyone that came to see her was sure to be offered food and comfort. Her greatest joy came from her loving family and especially her grandchildren. Gina was a kind and caring mother and deeply devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is the devoted mother of Girolamo Petrosillo of Winchester, Rosa Rinaldi and her husband Aldo of Rome, Italy, Cindy Petrosillo of Woburn, Marina Baldasaro of Medford, Ada Tauro of Revere, Annarita McNeeley and her husband Peter of North Andover, Maria Grazia Petrosillo of Medford, Elizabeth Petrosillo of Gardner and the late Carolina "Carla" Tauro. Cherished Nonna of twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. She is predeceased by many siblings and also leaves many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (Corner of Rt. 28 and Park St. at the Reading Line) on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 from 4 to 8pm.

Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at 9:30am followed by a funeral mass celebrating Gina's Life at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading at 10:30am.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
