Marysue L. Giordano passed away peacefully on August 31, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard; her son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Heather; her son Andrew; sisters Karen, Jane, and Lynda; brother-in-law Robert and sister-in-law Martha; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Marysue, known affectionally by some as “Curlysue,” was born in Melrose, MA on July 31st, 1943 to Joseph and Mary O’Connell. After receiving her degree from Massachusetts Bay Community College, she worked a long career as an Administrative Assistant for various businesses in Massachusetts. She is remembered as articulate, organized, and witty. She loved to read detective stories and was always fashionable in her selection of a wide array of jewelry and shoes. Marysue particularly enjoyed to travel the world with Richard. Fun and memorable times were had in their travels to the far reaches of Tahiti and Moorea to Bermuda, Paris, Canadian Provinces and New Mexico.
She always supported her sons and their activities, from driving them to all manner of sport practices when they were young, allowing a fledgling heavy metal band to practice at her house, and being supportive of their career and life choices that probably made little sense to her. Her home was open to everyone, and she loved to have friends and family visit. Being part of the neighborhood community was an absolute pleasure for her.
In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the Flint Memorial Library Gift Fund, 147 Park Street, North Reading MA 01864 in the name of Marysue Giordano.
Relatives and friends are most respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St. (Rte. 62), North Reading on Thursday, Sept. 8th at 10:30am. At the request of the family there are no calling hours. Interment private.
