Theodore Ricci Obituary

Theodore D. Ricci, beloved husband of the late Janet (Sawyer) Ricci, passed away on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at the age of 82. Born in Malden, he is the loving son of the late Joseph and Helen (Trodella) Ricci.

Ted grew up in Everett and Lynnfield. He was part of the first Lynnfield High School graduating class in 1960 and helped to select the school colors and mascot which are still used today. Ted also served his country in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis where he was stationed in Key West, Florida. He was extremely proud and honored to have served his country. He married the love of his life, Janet, in 1965 and they happily raised their family in the town of Lynnfield.

Ted worked for over 30 years and retired from Raytheon as an engineering assistant. While he enjoyed his many years of employment at Raytheon, his greatest joy came from his family. There was nothing that made him happier than to be surrounded by his family and friends. Ted was a warm and generous person who wanted to make sure everyone felt comfortable. His glass was always half-full. He would always joke around and look on the bright side even in difficult situations.

Ted loved to travel and York Beach was a family destination that holds many happy memories. He also traveled all over the US and Europe with his wife Janet. His hobby of photography came in handy to capture all of his vacation adventures. When he wasn’t away on a trip, he could be found “puttering” around the house finding things that needed to be “fixed.”

Ted is the devoted father of Christine Mahoney and her husband Steven of Pelham, NH, Elaine Herhold and her husband Jason of Conroe, TX and Beth Rauseo and her husband David of Lynnfield. Cherished grandfather of Megan Mahoney, Allison Mahoney and long time boyfriend Jacob Cunningham, Jake and Evan Herhold. Loving brother of Marianne MacWhorter and her husband Richard of Peabody, Joann Supino and her husband Joseph of Peabody, Joseph Ricci and his wife Peggy of Holland, Michigan and Kenneth Ricci of Haverhill. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and countless friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
