Wesley F. Ladd

Wesley F. Ladd, 84, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, MA, passed away on Friday, March 31 surrounded by his family after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Wesley was born in Lynn, MA and later moved to North Reading, MA where he and his wife raised their family. He is predeceased by his parents George and Madeline Ladd and his sister, Deanna (Ladd) Mazza.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Brooksby Village Continuing Care Unit for the love and care extended to Wesley during his final months. God bless.

Wesley is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Kathleen (Tobin) Ladd and his children Thomas and his wife Amy of Danvers, Ma, Kevin and his wife Kachie of Albany, NY and Nancy McDonough and her husband Tom of North Reading, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alison Chorney, Greg Ladd and Bridget McDonough as well as several nieces and nephews.

Wesley graduated from Bentley College and worked several positions as an accountant and system analyst at New England Gas and Electric, Price Waterhouse and Fidelity Investments. Later in his career he became a licensed real estate agent in the North Reading/Lynnfield area and helped many families find their dream home.

Wesley’s greatest loves of his life were his family, sports and music. He loved traveling with his wife to Hawaii, London, Boothbay Harbor, ME and Dennisport, MA. They also took many cruises together. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots and was overjoyed when the Red Sox broke the curse in 2004. Wesley was a past President of North Reading Little League and coached many of his children’s teams. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s lacrosse, baseball and softball games. Wesley was a member of the St. Theresa’s folk group for many years and was also a member of the North Reading Community Chorale. He was always singing!

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading line) on Monday, April 10th, 2023 from 10 to 11:30am.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated in Wesley’s Memory immediately following the visitation at 11:30am.

Interment will be private.
