So sorry to hear - my sincere condolences to Pauline and the entire family. Richard was a great guy, and we will always appreciate his thoughtfulness - including of course the lunches he often brought over to us at work! He always had some interesting story to tell, or some great pointers about making ice at the E. Boston MDC.
My sympathies to all..

As a newer member of the Malden Angler's Club, I only knew Dick for the last couple years but we had a few good laughs together. We were standing next to each other at the Yankee Swap two Christmases ago joking about some of the funny gifts people were giving each other when my name came up and I got a bottle of whiskey, which I don't drink. Wouldn't you know Dick got called next and he got a nice blue Orvis fishing cap. So I said, "Well, at least you got something you can use. " And he turned to me with a twinkle in his eye and said, "Why don't you take this hat--you can put it to better use than I can, and I'll find a place for that bottle with one of these scoundrels around here!" I still have that hat and I think of Dick and his wonderful humor every time I go fishing with it.

I had a few opportunities to talk with Richard at Malden Angler's this past year. I'm a relatively new member, but he was always very welcoming and friendly to me. I had some interesting conversations with him about art and teaching. I was lucky enough to win a few boxes of flies in metal boxes that he hand painted. They're gorgeous! I'll treasure those, and consider myself lucky to have met him. A class act all the way. Prayers to all of his family and condolences on your loss. He'll be missed but certainly not forgotten by the members at Malden Anglers. Fran Lunney

Pauline and Family,
Dick has been a very important part of my life since the day we first met at Malden Anglers many years ago. We shared many outings and laughs together.
He will be sorely missed , but his memories will linger.
Please know he will be FOREVER in my prayers!
